We would love to welcome you to one of our services. There is no dress code, and you are welcome whether you are new to faith, exploring faith or experienced in faith. Hot/cold drinks and biscuits are served after all our Sunday services.
Our morning services are normally led by our Minister and begin at 10.30am with a time of family worship which includes sung worship and prayer suitable for all ages. The children will then have their own age related activities in another area of the church (See Kids’ Club) The service continues with a reading from the Bible and a talk relating to the reading. We normally close with an opportunity for people to respond to the message if they wish and a time of sung worship. If you would like someone to pray with you there is normally an opportunity at the end of the service. Once a month we have a visiting speaker or hear about a particular group or event that we are supporting together as a church.
Our Family services are normally led by our Minister and begin at 10.30am. They start with sung worship with plenty of lively as well as quieter more contemplative songs. The content of the whole service is suitable for all ages. As well as readings from the Bible and activities to help us understand what the reading is saying to us today we have a creative prayer time. Whether you choose to take part in the activity offered, or just sit and take in what’s going on around you, our prayer is that these services will help you to connect to God and to explore and grow in faith.
We celebrate communion during the morning service on the 1st and 3rd weeks of the month. Communion helps us to remember the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The way we celebrate communion at WGBC varies in style. Small pieces of gluten free bread and a small cup of non-alcoholic red juice are either served along the rows or are available for you to collect from a table in your own time. Anyone who loves God and is committed to trying to follow Jesus is welcome to take part in the celebration of Communion.
Kid’s Club is for kid’s aged 4 to 10 and meets during our Morning Service
on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month.
We believe that Sunday mornings should be the highlight of our kids’ weeks no matter what age they are. We aim to provide a place of fun and friendship so that children can grow in faith as they discover more about God.
Kid’s Club includes various forms of worship, Bible readings, prayer, song, dance, craft, games and lots of fun all of which is designed
to help children to connect with God and with each other.
All our children’s volunteers are vetted and DBS checked.
There is a crèche room for 0 to 3’s and their carer’s. Toys are available for your little ones to play whilst you keep an eye on them and listen to the service.
